The Clatsop Community College Board of Directors has appointed Patrick Wingard to fill a Zone 2 position left vacant by the resignation of Dr. Stephen Berk who has returned to teaching at CCC.

Wingard holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University. He has 12 years of public and private planning experience on the north coast including Planning Director for the City of Warrenton, Principal Planner for Clatsop County and North Coast Representative for the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development.

In applying for the position, Wingard noted the vital role that community colleges have in expanding local economies and improving quality of life for residents. One of three applicants for the position, Wingard will begin his service at the October 9 meeting of the CCC Board of Directors. His appointment expires in June 2013 at which time he must stand for election for the position.

CCC President Larry Galizio notes, "Patrick Wingard's long-time community involvement and passion for education make him an ideal complement to CCC's dedicated Board of Directors."
