Northwest Natural Gas
Company, has announced that the Public Utility Commission of Oregon (OPUC)
approved a rate reduction for NW Natural gas customers. The company has been
approved to raise its base rates. The
adjustments will result in about a 5 percent rate reduction for residential
customers and about a 6 percent reduction for commercial customers.
In a press release, Gregg
Kantor, NW Natural president and CEO, said, "Natural gas costs have fallen steadily,
in large part because of robust domestic natural gas supplies," "That
means that over the last four years, our customers have saved about $400
million from lower gas prices."
