On August 6th 2012, at approximately 9:00 AM, the Wasco County Sheriff's
Office recovered the body of 19 year old James Hawkins of Eugene, Oregon, who
had been missing since Sunday while swimming in the Columbia River. The
victim was recovered with the assistance of the Skamania County Dive Team just
west of Water's Edge in The Dalles, OR.
Next of kin have been notified.
