BOONE TO SEEK SIXTH TERM


Oregon State Representative Deborah Boone, has announced she will file to run for a sixth term in the State Legislature representing House District 32. Boone says her top priorities are Emergency Preparedness, Energy, Education, and the Economy.

In a statement Boone said, quote: “We need a focus on implementing the Oregon Resilience Plan,” Boone said, “to protect our residents, business, and coastal communities that will be in harm’s way in the event of a Cascadia earthquake and tsunami”, close quote.

Boone says the territorial sea floor mapping project needs to be completed, along with continuing the seismic upgrades program for schools and critical public buildings. In order to take advantage of opportunities in the renewable energy sector, she will work with coastal Oregon Community Colleges to collaborate on a shared curriculum for renewable energy technician training.

In her statement she added the threat of invasive Species in needs to be addressed. “If invasive species like Quagga and Zebra mussels are left unchecked, there could be devastating environmental and economic impacts for the state.”

“I have been honored to serve in the Oregon House of Representatives, and look forward to continuing to make a positive difference for House District 32 and all Oregonians.”

Oregon House District 32 includes most of Clatsop county, the northern half of Tillamook county and smaller western portion of Washington county.
