ASTORIA WEAPONS ARREST SUNDAY

On Sunday March 3, 2013 at approximately 9:53pm, deputies from the Clatsop County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at 38410 Hwy 30, Space-15 (John Day Trailer Park) in rural Astoria, OR. The warrant was served pursuant to an ongoing investigation that revealed Eric N. Sharpsteen and Nicholas W. Jones were convicted felons and had possession of multiple firearms.

Eric N. Sharpsteen, 38, DOB 5/26/1974 of Astoria, OR. was lodged in the Clatsop County Jail on charges of; 21-counts Excon in Possession of a Firearm, 2-counts Felon in Possession of Body Armor, 1-count Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine.

Nicholas W. Jones, 40, DOB 10/07/1972  of Astoria, OR. was lodged in the Clatsop County Jail on charges of; 18-counts Excon in Possession of a Firearm, 2-counts Felon in Possession of Body Armor, 1-count Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon, 1-count Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine.

In all; 21 firearms, body armor, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, stolen identification, brass knuckles, and hundreds of rounds of live ammunition were seized from the residence. Picture of seized evidence is below.

The Oregon State Police assisted at the scene with the service of the search warrant.
