Positions on the
boards of more than three dozen service districts around Clatsop County are up
for election on the May 21, 2013 ballot. The filing period for the election
opens Feb. 9 and continues through March 21.
Seats are up for
election on the boards of countywide districts including the Port of Astoria,
Clatsop Community College and Sunset Empire Transportation District, as well as
area school districts, rural fire districts, water and sewer districts and other
entities.
Candidates can file
to run by fee or petition.

The last day to
register to vote in the May 21 election is April 30; more voter registration
information is also available on the county website. People can also check their
