At a
special meeting on December 8, 2014, the Clatsop Community College Board of
Directors elected two new members to fill recent vacancies resulting from the
departures of Dr. Frank Satterwhite and Larry McKinley.
Esther
Moberg was elected to fill a position in Zone 3 that is generally
described as the City of Cannon Beach, City of Seaside, City of Gearhart, Arch
Cape area, City of Warrenton, Clatsop Plains area, Necanicum area south of
Seaside, and Stanley Acres north of Seaside. Moberg currently
serves as Director of the Seaside Public Library. She holds a Masters in Library
Science from Emporia State University and a Bachelor of Science from
Northwestern University. She is also a former Clatsop Community College student.
Moberg is engaged in a variety of community initiatives including the Columbia
Pacific Assistance League, P.E.O.-Chapter FE and the City of Seaside Emergency
Preparedness Team.
“I am excited to join
with the other board members on the Clatsop Community College board to support
the role of continuing education in Clatsop County. I have fond memories of my
time at CCC, and I look forward to joining in the work of the college,” says
Moberg.
Robert
Duehmig was elected to fill the vacancy in Zone 2, generally described as the
City of Astoria, Lewis & Clark area, and Olney-Walluski areas. Duehmig has
served as Deputy Director of the Oregon Office of Rural Health since 2006. He
has extensive experience in governmental relations including work with OHSU,
Representative David Wu and AFT-Oregon. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political
Science from Indiana University.
Duehmig says, "I am
very excited about being on the board. CCC is such an important part of our
county and I look forward to doing my part to ensure that it continues to offer
all it can to our students and our community.”
