This
visioning process has been funded by a technical assistance grant from the Ford
Family Foundation and local donors. Kathi Jaworski of “Write to Know” will share
information she has gathered since the March meeting including information about
similar programs and how they are operated. The group will also review it’s
strategic focus of preserving the PAC building as a venue for community based
arts and performances well as developing a sustainable structure and business
plan.
A
group of seven regional performing arts organizations, the Clatsop Community
College Foundation, and other interested residents have created an informal
cooperative working group (known as Partners for the PAC) with the purpose of
maintaining the college’s Performing Arts Center (PAC) for affordable,
community-based music, theater and educational activities. The Partners include
the Astoria Music Festival, KMUN’s Tillicum Foundation, Little Ballet Theater,
North Coast Big Band, North Coast Chorale, North Coast Symphonic Band, and North
Oregon Coast Symphony. The CCC Foundation board is serving as fiscal agent and
is actively involved in the Partners for the PAC.
