CLATSOP COUNTY HEALTHY KIDS, YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION HOST JAMBOREE JUNE 22

Clatsop County’s Healthy Kids program, with the Lower Columbia Youth Soccer Association, is hosting the Healthy Kids Soccer Jamboree with Community Health and Resource Fair on Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Warrenton Soccer Complex.
The purpose of this fair is to increase the number of insured children and teens in our county, increase the soccer association’s membership, and provide much-needed health and resource information to the community at large.
Judi Mahoney, Healthy Kids Outreach and Enrollment Worker for Clatsop County, invites all children and adults to come to the fair. “There will be prizes, fun and educational activities and multiple community resources available at the fair,” she said.

The Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation’s Health Screening Van will provide vision, hearing, blood pressure, glaucoma and diabetes screenings at the event. Medical Teams International’s Mobile Dental Clinic will be available for dental care for children, sponsored by Providence Seaside Hospital.
“Providence Seaside Hospital and Providence Medical Group-Warrenton are proud to be the title sponsor for this Healthy Kids Fair. Working together with our communities on wellness and healthy activities for children is the perfect fit for Providence,” says Paulette McCoy, public affairs representative for Providence North Coast Service Area. “We thank Judi Mahoney for her excellent coordination in making this all come together.”
Columbia Memorial Hospital is offering children’s nutrition and tobacco cessation resources to families. "Columbia Memorial Hospital is proud to support the Healthy Kids Soccer Jamboree. We encourage all families to attend," said Paul Mitchell, CMH marketing manager.
The Seaside Elks will have their Drug Awareness and Prevention trailer at the event, and Warrenton Fire and Police vehicles, an Astoria Police Department police vehicle, and a Medix ambulance will be at the event for children to explore. Other fair participants include Tongue Point Job Corp’s dental assisting and home health students, county park and recreation providers, county health and service providers and resource agencies, local Head Start programs and schools, county libraries, Pacific Power, area Boy Scouts and Costco Wholesale.
Healthy Kids is Oregon’s no-cost and low-cost health coverage program for kids and teens 0-18 years of age. Healthy Kids is comprehensive coverage offering medical, dental, vision, prescription and behavioral health coverage.
